Testing

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING SEVERE DIFFICULTY BREATHING, SEVERE CHEST PAINS, CONFUSED OR DISORIENTED, and/or LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS, CALL 911.

If you are experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19, you must book an appointment at a participating assessment center to receive a COVID-19 test. Participating assessment centers can be found using the links below. For more information on the signs and symptoms of COVID-19, click here

If you are not experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19, you can receive a COVID-19 test at either an assessment center or at participating pharmacies.

You should consider receiving a COVID-19 test if…

  • you have been in close contact with an individual who has been diagnosed with COVID-19;  
  • youare eligible as part of a targeted testing initiative:
    • Residents, workers, or visitors of long-term care homes, shelters for individuals experiencing homeless, or similar congregate settings 
    • International students (following a 14-day quarantine)
    • Farm workers 
    • Indigenous communities   
  • live and/or work with individuals that are part of a susceptible population, including children and/or the elderly 
  • work in a client-facing role, including but not limited to positions in education, healthcare, the food industry, and construction and trades 
  • work in or have visited a congregate setting, including but not limited to long-term care homes and homeless shelters 
  • are planning on travelling internationally 

Once you have been tested, please self-isolate until your test is processed and the results are confirmed. If you cannot access your test results online, please contact the test provider and/or your primary physician.

WELLINGTON-DUFFERIN-GUELPH:  

The Guelph Assessment Center operates 7 days a week on an appointment-only basis. Bookings are taken by phone only. Individuals must enter the building for testing (no drive-thru). 

Weekdays: 8am to 8pm 
Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 4pm 

The University of Guelph Health Services also offers COVID-19 testing at the JT Powell building on-campus. This testing is appointment-only, and only for students experiencing at least 1 symptom of COVID-19 and/or asymptomatic contacts of a confirmed case within 14 days from their last exposure. FAQs related to student COVID-19 testing and wellness can be found here
